# boundingCenter

*Command · Object Manipulation · Arma 3 v0.50 · introduced in Arma 2 v1.00*

## Description

Returns the position of the original (loaded) center of an object in model coordinates. Despite its name, it has nothing to do with [boundingBox](../commands/boundingBox.md) or [boundingBoxReal](../commands/boundingBoxReal.md), it returns offset where `[0, 0, 0]` was Object Builder / Oxygen 2 when model was created.

## Syntax

```sqf
boundingCenter object
```

**Parameters:**

- `object`: [Object](../topics/Object.md)

**Returns:** [PositionRelative](../topics/Position.md#positionrelative)

## Examples

### Example 1

```sqf
_center = boundingCenter TruckOne;
```

Some objects have [boundingCenter](../commands/boundingCenter.md) in really weird positions. In general this command is borderline useless.
