# getElevationOffset

*Command · Map · Arma 3 v0.50 · introduced in Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead v1.50*

## Description

Returns the map elevation offset from [map]/config.cpp.

Returns 0 if there is no elevationOffset defined in the config of the current world.

## Syntax

```sqf
getElevationOffset
```

**Returns:** [Number](../topics/Number.md) - elevation offset of the map

## Examples

### Example 1

```sqf
_offset = getElevationOffset;
```
