# lnbSetTooltip

*Command · GUI Control - ListNBox · Arma 3 v1.94*

## Description

Sets tooltip on the item with the given row and column of CT_LISTNBOX.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> By default, tooltips are added for all columns no matter what column index is provided.
> This behaviour can be overwritten since Arma 3 v2.02 by setting the control's property `tooltipPerColumn` to [true](../commands/true.md).
> See CT_LISTNBOX documentation.

## Syntax

### Syntax 1

```sqf
lnbSetTooltip [idc, [row, column], text]
```

**Parameters:**

- `idc`: [Number](../topics/Number.md) - control's IDC
- `row`: [Number](../topics/Number.md) - row where the tooltip should be shown
- `column`: [Number](../topics/Number.md) - column where tooltip should be shown. By default it is set for every column, see description
- `text`: [String](../topics/String.md) - tooltip text

**Returns:** [Nothing](../topics/Nothing.md)

### Syntax 2

```sqf
ctrl lnbSetTooltip [[row, column], text]
```

**Parameters:**

- `ctrl`: [Control](../topics/Control.md) - control
- `row`: [Number](../topics/Number.md) - row where the tooltip should be shown
- `column`: [Number](../topics/Number.md) - column where tooltip should be shown. By default it is set for every column, see description
- `text`: [String](../topics/String.md) - tooltip text
