# moveInDriver

Locality: arguments **local** · effect **global**

## Description

Moves soldier into vehicle driver position (immediate, no animation).

> [!IMPORTANT]
> If the unit is already in a vehicle, nothing will happen unless [moveOut](../commands/moveOut.md) (since Arma 2) is used first to move the unit out of their vehicle (see [#Example 2](../commands/moveInDriver.md#example-2)).

## Syntax

```sqf
unit moveInDriver vehicle
```

**Parameters:**

**Returns:** [Nothing](../topics/Nothing.md)

## Examples

### Example 1

```sqf
_soldierOne moveInDriver _tankOne;
```

### Example 2

```sqf

    moveOut player;
};

player moveInDriver _myTruck;
```

## Multiplayer

*unit* must be [local](../topics/Multiplayer_Scripting.md#locality), while the vehicle's locality does not matter.

## Community notes

**Ceeeb** — 2007-02-02

In **OFP v1.96**, the moveIn commands will not trigger an associated getIn event.
To ensure the getIn event is fired, use the "getIn Driver" action command.
