# setBrakesRTD

*Command · RTD · Arma 3 v1.34 · introduced in Take On Helicopters v1.00*

## Description

Enable landing gear wheel brakes for a helicopter.
- value 0: brakes off
- value 1: brakes on

- index 1: left wheels
- index 2: right wheels
- index 3: both sides

> [!NOTE]
> **afm:** For this command to have any effect, the Advanced Flight Model (AFM) has to be enabled. AFM status can be checked with [difficultyEnabledRTD](../commands/difficultyEnabledRTD.md).

> This command is implemented, but not fully supported.

## Syntax

```sqf
helicopterRTD setBrakesRTD [value, wheelIndex]
```

**Parameters:**

- `helicopterRTD`: [ObjectRTD](../topics/Object.md) - helicopter
- `value`: [Number](../topics/Number.md) - value of the brakes
- `wheelIndex`: [Number](../topics/Number.md) - wheel index
