# setGroupIconsVisible

## Description

Sets if group icons added with [addGroupIcon](../commands/addGroupIcon.md) are visible on map and in the HUD.

## Syntax

```sqf
setGroupIconsVisible [showOnMap, showOnHUD]
```

**Parameters:**

- `showOnMap`: [Boolean](../topics/Boolean.md) - [true](../commands/true.md) to show on map. Default is [false](../commands/false.md)
- `showOnHUD`: [Boolean](../topics/Boolean.md) - [true](../commands/true.md) to show on HUD. Default is [false](../commands/false.md)

**Returns:** [Nothing](../topics/Nothing.md) (prior to Arma 3 v1.94 this command returned [Object](../topics/Object.md) of [null](../commands/objNull.md) value)

If enabling for MARTA (Military Symbols) and using teamSwitch this command needs to be run again once switched to the new unit.
Possibly do it in a mission eventHandler of TeamSwitch.
