# toLower

*Command · Strings · Arma 3 v0.50 · introduced in Armed Assault v1.09*

## Description

Converts the supplied Unicode string to all lowercase characters. If the string doesn't have characters with [codes](../commands/toArray.md) > 255, use [toLowerANSI](../commands/toLowerANSI.md).

## Syntax

```sqf
toLower string
```

**Parameters:**

- `string`: [String](../topics/String.md)

**Returns:** [String](../topics/String.md)

## Examples

### Example 1

```sqf
hint toLower "AaBb1"; // returns "aabb1"
```
