## Description

Returns a string of a [Location](../topics/Location.md)'s class name or [Task](../topics/Task.md)'s name (same as [taskName](../commands/taskName.md)).

## Syntax

### Syntax 1

```sqf
type location
```

**Parameters:**

- `location`: [Location](../topics/Location.md)

**Returns:** [String](../topics/String.md)

### Syntax 2

```sqf
type task
```

**Parameters:**

- `task`: [Task](../topics/Task.md)

**Returns:** [String](../topics/String.md) - the type of the task

## Examples

### Example 1

```sqf
_locationType = type myLocation;
```

### Example 2

```sqf
_taskName = type myTask;
```
