# BIS_fnc_configExtremes

*Function · Configs · Arma 3 v1.36*

## Description

Scan config paths and return min and max values for each property.

Can be used only for properties of type [Number](../topics/Number.md) and [Array](../topics/Array.md) (value is considered to be the geometric mean of all numbers in the array).

## Syntax

```sqf
[paths, properties, propertyTypes, propertyDefaults] call BIS_fnc_configExtremes
```

**Parameters:**

- `paths`: [Array](../topics/Array.md) of [Config](../topics/Config.md)s - paths to be scanned.
- `properties`: [Array](../topics/Array.md) of [String](../topics/String.md)s - class names of properties to be evaluated.
- `propertyTypes`: [Array](../topics/Array.md) of [Boolean](../topics/Boolean.md)s - (Optional, default [false](../commands/false.md)) whether the property at the respective index should be evaluated and returned as a [log](../commands/log.md)arithmic number
- `propertyDefaults`: [Array](../topics/Array.md) of [Number](../topics/Number.md)s - (Optional, default 0) value to be used in cases where the property at the respective index is not defined

**Returns:** [Array](../topics/Array.md) - [minValues, maxValues] where minValues and maxValues are arrays respective to the properties array.

### Example 1

```sqf
private _paths = [configFile >> "CfgWeapons"] call BIS_fnc_returnChildren;
[_paths, ["maxRange", "reloadTime"]] call BIS_fnc_configExtremes;
```
