# BIS_fnc_execVM

## Description

[execVM](../commands/execVM.md) desired script with desired argument(s). This function is only really useful when combined with [BIS_fnc_MP](../functions/BIS_fnc_MP.md) to execute a script remotely.

## Syntax

### Syntax 1

```sqf
filename call BIS_fnc_execVM
```

**Parameters:**

- `filename`: [String](../topics/String.md)

**Returns:** [Script Handle](../topics/Script_Handle.md) - can be used to determine (via [scriptDone](../commands/scriptDone.md)) when the script has finished.

### Syntax 2

```sqf
[arguments, filename] call BIS_fnc_execVM
```

**Parameters:**

- `arguments`: [Anything](../topics/Anything.md) - arguments are passed to script as magic variable [_this](../topics/Magic_Variables.md#this).
- `filename`: [String](../topics/String.md)

**Returns:** [Script Handle](../topics/Script_Handle.md) - can be used to determine (via [scriptDone](../commands/scriptDone.md)) when the script has finished.

### Example 1

```sqf
"Bonus\initializeExtras.sqf" call BIS_fnc_execVM;
```

### Example 2

```sqf
[player, "reposition.sqf"] call BIS_fnc_execVM;
```

### Example 3

```sqf
// before Arma 3 v1.50
[[[_param1, _param2], "addBonus.sqf"], "BIS_fnc_execVM", true] call BIS_fnc_MP;

// since Arma 3 v1.50
[[_param1, _param2], "addBonus.sqf"] remoteExec ["execVM"];
```
