# BIS_fnc_markerToString

*Function · Map and Markers · Arma 3 v1.92*

## Description

Converts existing marker to [String](../topics/String.md), for example: `"|marker_0|[3799.0110,2781.9880,0.0000]|mil_pickup|ICON|[1,1]|0|Solid|Default|1|You are here"`

## Syntax

```sqf
[markerName, delimiter] call BIS_fnc_markerToString
```

**Parameters:**

- `markerName`: [String](../topics/String.md) - existing marker
- `delimiter`: [String](../topics/String.md) - (Optional, default `|`) a single data delimiter character

**Returns:** [String](../topics/String.md) - serialized marker to be used with [BIS_fnc_stringToMarker](../functions/BIS_fnc_stringToMarker.md) or [BIS_fnc_stringToMarkerLocal](../functions/BIS_fnc_stringToMarkerLocal.md)
