# BIS_fnc_overviewAuthor

*Function · GUI · Arma 3 v0.50 · introduced in Take On Helicopters v1.00*

## Description

Returns the mission author's name preceded by "by", e.g "by Username". See [Description.ext#author](../topics/Description.ext.md#author).

## Syntax

```sqf
[config, control] call BIS_fnc_overviewAuthor
```

**Parameters:**

- `config`: [Config](../topics/Config.md) - (Optional, default [configFile](../commands/configFile.md)) where the function will look for **author** entry
- `control`: [Control](../topics/Control.md) - (Optional, default [controlNull](../commands/controlNull.md)) if provided, will be filled with author's name

**Returns:** [String](../topics/String.md)

### Example 1

```sqf
hint format ["%1, %2", briefingName, call BIS_fnc_overviewAuthor];
```

### Example 2

```sqf
hint format ["%1, %2", briefingName, [missionConfigFile] call BIS_fnc_overviewAuthor];
```
