# BIS_fnc_selectDiarySubject

## Description

Selects a diary subject.

> [!NOTE]
> This was a temporary replacement for [selectDiarySubject](../commands/selectDiarySubject.md) scripting command which **had been broken** until v2.04.

## Syntax

```sqf
[diaryName] call BIS_fnc_selectDiarySubject
```

**Parameters:**

- `diaryName`: [String](../topics/String.md) - diary subject name

**Returns:** [Boolean](../topics/Boolean.md) - [true](../commands/true.md) if the subject was found and selected

## Examples
