# GUI Control - Map (scripting commands)

- [ctrlMapAnimAdd](../../commands/ctrlMapAnimAdd.md): Adds the next frame to the map animation.
- [ctrlMapAnimClear](../../commands/ctrlMapAnimClear.md): Clears the map animation.
- [ctrlMapAnimCommit](../../commands/ctrlMapAnimCommit.md): Plays the map animation.
- [ctrlMapAnimDone](../../commands/ctrlMapAnimDone.md): Checks whether the map animation has finished.
- [ctrlMapCursor](../../commands/ctrlMapCursor.md): Changes the default cursor that appears when interacting with a map control to a custom one. Use an empty string to restore the default cursor.
- [ctrlMapDir](../../commands/ctrlMapDir.md): Returns the current orientation angle of the map control in degrees.
- [ctrlMapMouseOver](../../commands/ctrlMapMouseOver.md): Returns description of map sign mouse cursor is over. Works with in-game map as well as 2D editor map in edit mode.
- [ctrlMapPosition](../../commands/ctrlMapPosition.md): A getter for ctrlMapSetPosition. Returns map position in format [x, y, w, h]. If map is inside a Controls Group, the x and y position is relative to the Controls Group top left corner.
- [ctrlMapScale](../../commands/ctrlMapScale.md): Returns the current scale of given map control.
- [ctrlMapScreenToWorld](../../commands/ctrlMapScreenToWorld.md): Converts map screen coordinates into world coordinates. Unlike posScreenToWorld, this command returns world position is format [x, y], otherwise it is identical to posScreenToWorld.
- [ctrlMapSetPosition](../../commands/ctrlMapSetPosition.md): Sets position and size of the given map control and recalculates control center. The effect is immediate and no ctrlCommit is necessary, unlike with ctrlSetPosition command.
- [ctrlMapWorldToScreen](../../commands/ctrlMapWorldToScreen.md): Converts world coordinates into map screen coordinates. This command is identical to posWorldToScreen.
- [drawArrow](../../commands/drawArrow.md): Draws a single line arrow on the map. As this command needs to be called every frame, it is preferable using the onDraw UI Event Handler. To draw a color filled arrow of custom shape see BIS_fnc_drawArrow.
- [drawEllipse](../../commands/drawEllipse.md): Draws an ellipse on the map. Just like with marker or trigger area, negative *a* and *b* will result in hexagon.
- [drawIcon](../../commands/drawIcon.md): Draws an icon on the map. As this command needs to be called every frame, it is preferable using the onDraw UI Event Handler.
- [drawLine](../../commands/drawLine.md): Draw a line on the map. Can decrease framerate!
- [drawLocation](../../commands/drawLocation.md): Used to draw locations in 2D Editor.
- [drawPolygon](../../commands/drawPolygon.md): Draws given polygon on the given map control with given color. The polygon must consist of at least 3 points.
- [drawRectangle](../../commands/drawRectangle.md): Draws a rectangle on the map.

- [drawXPolygon](../../commands/drawXPolygon.md): Draws an N sided polygon on the map.
- [mapCenterOnCamera](../../commands/mapCenterOnCamera.md): The main syntax enables/disables continuous centering of the main map type control on the camera position. Needs to be executed once.
- [posWorldToScreen](../../commands/posWorldToScreen.md): Converts world coordinates into map screen coordinates. This command is identical to ctrlMapWorldToScreen.
