# Math - Geometry (scripting commands)

- [acos](../../commands/acos.md): ArcCosine of a number, result in Degrees
- [asin](../../commands/asin.md): Arcsine of a number, result in Degrees.
- [atan](../../commands/atan.md): Returns the arcus tangens.
- [atan2](../../commands/atan2.md): ArcTangent of *y/x*. Used to determine the angle of a vector *[y,x]*. Result in Degrees between -180 and 180.
- [atg](../../commands/atg.md): Returns the arcus tangens.
- [checkVisibility](../../commands/checkVisibility.md): Checks if one position is visible from another position and how much.
- [cos](../../commands/cos.md): Cosine of a number, argument in degrees.
- [deg](../../commands/deg.md): Converts given value in radians to degrees. 1 degree equals 0.01745 radians or pi / 180.
- [distance](../../commands/distance.md): Returns a distance in meters between Objects, Positions or Locations.
- [distance2D](../../commands/distance2D.md): Returns a 2D distance (distance projected to X,Y plane) in meters between Objects and/or Positions.
- [distanceSqr](../../commands/distanceSqr.md): Computes the squared distance between two objects or positions. This command is faster than distance by saving a square root operation, useful for mass-checking distance without the need of the distance value itself.
- [intersect](../../commands/intersect.md): Finds named selections in object which are in specified LOD, intersected by given section of a line. Return value is in the form of [selection, distance]. Multiple returned arrays are nested within a single array.
- [lineIntersects](../../commands/lineIntersects.md): Checks for object intersection with a virtual line between two positions. Since Arma 3 v2.20, there is an alternative syntax that does multiple checks in parallel, faster than multiple calls.
- [lineIntersectsObjs](../../commands/lineIntersectsObjs.md): Returns a list of objects intersected by the line from *begPos* to *endPos*. Since Arma 3 v2.20, there is an alternative syntax that does multiple checks in parallel, faster than multiple calls.
- [lineIntersectsSurfaces](../../commands/lineIntersectsSurfaces.md): Returns a list of intersections with surfaces and ground from *begPosASL* to *endPosASL*. Doesn't return intersection with sea surface. Works underwater, unlike lineIntersects. Hardcoded max distance: 5000m.
- [lineIntersectsWith](../../commands/lineIntersectsWith.md): Returns objects intersecting with the virtual line from *begPos* to *endPos*. By default, the resulting array of intersecting objects is unsorted (see *sortByDistance*).
- [pi](../../commands/pi.md): pi (180 degrees converted to Radians).
- [rad](../../commands/rad.md): Converts given value in degrees to radians. 1 radian equals 180 degrees divided by pi.
- [sin](../../commands/sin.md): Sine of x.
- [tan](../../commands/tan.md): Tangent of x, argument in Degrees.
- [terrainIntersect](../../commands/terrainIntersect.md): Checks for intersection of terrain between two AGL positions. Returns true if intersects with terrain. For ASL variant see terrainIntersectASL.
- [terrainIntersectASL](../../commands/terrainIntersectASL.md): Checks for intersection of terrain between two ASL positions. Returns true if intersects with terrain. For AGL variant, see terrainIntersect.
- [terrainIntersectAtASL](../../commands/terrainIntersectAtASL.md): Checks for intersection of terrain between two ASL positions. Same as terrainIntersectASL but returns the intersection ASL position.
- [tg](../../commands/tg.md): Identical to tan
